I recently updated our Home Page on the Inner Fire Pyramids website, and chose as my subject “How It All Began.” This seems appropriate for the first post on this blog as we explore more fully where copper pyramids come from. Many, today, are still resistant to accepting the idea that something simple and strange like this can make a real difference in your life. However, copper pyramids are now very much a part of the greater meditation community.
I believe it all started (in earnest) in the mid-to-late 80’s. There was a great deal of interest in everything “new age” emerging then. For those involved in the movement, it felt to be a significant positive change, globally. Crystals, gemstones and copper pyramids were all part of the shift in consciousness. The new age movement led to a greater fascination and acceptance of practices such as astrology, alternative medicine, etc.
You can see the grand trine and kite formation in the sky. It is interesting that these triangular shapes forming among the planets seem to echo the emergence of the pyramids. Chiron, at the peak of the kite formation, far right, is the healer among the planets. The grand trine stands for a powerful level of harmony. Looking back, we might wonder where the energy is today, and yet it is all still here. It makes you wonder, doesn’t it? What kind of world would we be living in if all that energy had not downloaded from source. The work we do on ourselves and for others continues to make a difference.
New Age / Harmonic Convergence
To look more closely at how and why these changes came about, we might consider the astrological timing. This was the time of the Harmonic Convergence. It was August of 1987. If you are old enough to have been involved, you will remember it as an incredible time. I was in Central Park gathering with thousands of people and, working as an astrologer at the time, I printed up fliers that showed the arrangements of the planets. This, together with a description of what was going on energetically. I would spend the day walking around the crowd handing them out.
During the new age movement, there was a significant increase in channeled books. In several channeled books, there was the mention of copper pyramids for use to heal, ground and development greater awareness. In one such book, I would follow instructions and begin to build a makeshift pyramid out of copper wire. I remember that it was in my Boerum Hill apartment in Brooklyn, New York, in 1987. It was clear that this would become an important tool for me. I soon began building models with copper pipes. I still build them today. In fact, I build them most days.
This Is Where Copper Pyramids Come From
Gem Elixirs and Vibrational Healing was the book I learned from. This book deals primarily with gemstones, and yet it includes a small chapter on copper pyramids. It claimed that sitting in a copper pyramid will help us gain a stronger sense of self and awareness. This is exactly what I needed at the time, and I was compelled to test it out.
I imagine that this is where copper pyramids come from. In fact, I truly believe it started the copper pyramid phenomenon. I’m certainly not the only one who followed the instructions. It was a makeshift pyramid out of copper wire. I lived in an apartment in Brooklyn, New York in 1987. Over the years, I have seen them show up here and there. Recently, they have become quite popular among those who meditate. After all, pyramids are incredibly grounding. One thing is clear. Regardless of where copper pyramids come from, they appear to be here to stay. At least for many of us who are bent on personal growth and building greater self-awareness.
